Atlassian Data Center Ends in 2029: The Future is in the Cloud
Atlassian has taken an important decision as part of its cloud-first strategy: Data Center products will be completely discontinued as of March 28, 2029. This step is a natural consequence of the fact that the vast majority of Atlassian customers worldwide have already migrated to cloud solutions.
Why? Atlassian Data Center Ends in 2029?
Data Center products were developed about 10 years ago to meet enterprise needs. However, today’s business world has much different requirements:
- Fast and seamless collaboration of teams,
- Placing artificial intelligence-supported processes at the center of the business,
- Strong protection against growing security threats,
- Higher scalability and regulatory compliance.
According to data from Atlassian, 99% of customers are already in the cloud or in the process of migrating to the cloud. Therefore, it is inevitable that the company will focus its future innovations and investments entirely on Atlassian Cloud.
Advantages of the Cloud
Moving to Atlassian Cloud is not just a technical change; it is also a strategic opportunity:
- Working Smarter with Artificial Intelligence: Rovo and Atlassian Intelligence accelerate teams’ business processes.
- Teamwork Graph: Connects disparate systems by eliminating data silos.
- Rapid Development: Atlassian released more than 1000 new features for the cloud in 2024 alone.
- Security and Compliance: High security standards with regulatory compliant structures such as FedRAMP High, IL5, Sovereign Cloud and Isolated Cloud.
- Scalability: Confluence support for up to 150,000 users, Jira support for up to 100,000 users.

What is being offered:
